Abstract<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Research Purpose: <\/strong>Functionalist theory, emphasising the importance of social structures for societal stability, has sparked significant debate. Critically, it raises questions about the persistent segregation of women into domestic roles, despite their potential to contribute significantly in other domains. This research investigates how gender and organisational structure interact to shape organisational behaviour at Dangote Cement PLC, a major player in the Nigerian economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Methodology: <\/strong>This study employs a two-pronged approach. First, it conducts a systematic review of the existing literature exploring the relationship between gender, organisational structure, and their impact on organisational behaviour. Second, it analyses Dangote Cement PLC corporate press releases, focusing on initiatives and policies related to gender equality and organisational structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Findings: <\/strong>Findings reveal that Dangote Cement PLC is dedicated to promoting gender equality within its workforce. This commitment is evident in the company’s efforts to create a corporate structure that offers equal opportunities for both men and women. However, despite these efforts, the representation of women in managerial positions remains disproportionately low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conclusion: <\/strong>Dangote Cement PLC commitment to gender equality is commendable. However, the lack of women in leadership positions reveals a disconnect between policy and actual practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recommendations:<\/strong> The study recommends that Dangote Cement PLC implement more proactive measures to empower women and facilitate their ascension to leadership roles. This could include targeted mentorship programs, leadership training specifically designed for women, and transparent promotion processes that mitigate unconscious bias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
